NANGARHAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan - Army Brig. Gen. Christopher Bentley, the Train, Advise, Assist Command - East commander; Army Col. Gregory Stokes, the TAAC-E Police Advisory Team commander; and logistics and engineering advisers assigned to TAAC-E met at the RLC with Nangarhar Provincial Chief of Police Maj. Gen. Fazel Ahmad Sherzad, the RLC commander, and other police leaders to discuss issues relevant to the facility Jan. 6, 2015.

The RLC, as it is commonly called by the advisers, is a brand new facility for police in Nangarhar province designed to become an important distribution hub for the police supply chain in eastern Afghanistan.

On this visit, the advisers and police leaders discussed some of the issues the police are working through to make the facility fully operational. Topics included the system of ordering and receiving all classes of supplies, manning and items under warranty.

PAT advisers use phone and email to help the police work through issues daily, and regular visits to the RLC reaffirm the commitment and partnership to the Afghan police.

As TAAC-E transitioned to NATO's Resolute Support Mission Jan. 1, 2015, advisers continue to assist their counterparts with improving the systems and processes that will make Afghan security forces sustainable for the long term.
