Colonel Jim Bradford was commissioned as an Infantry Officer from New Mexico Military Institute in 1989. Col. Bradford's recent assignments include Fellow at the Air War College, Maxwell AFB, AL and Regimental Tactical Officer, United States Corps of Cadets, United States Military Academy, West Point, NY.

Col. Bradford has served in command positions with 1st Armored Division, Federal Republic of Germany assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment with deployments to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and Commander, 1-63 Combined Arms Battalion, 1st Infantry Division deploying to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom before relinquishing command in 2010.

Col. Bradford has served in key leadership and staff positions with the 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, HI, 1st Armored Division, Federal Republic of Germany, and 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY. While assigned to 10th Mountain Division, Col. Bradford supported both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Col. Bradford's joint assignments include assignment to the White House under Presidents Clinton and G.W. Bush as a member of the White House Military Office and as a Strategic Planner for US Pacific Command focusing on NE Asia.

Col Bradford assumed command of U.S. Army Garrison Daegu on June 19, 2013.

Col. Bradford holds a undergraduate degree from the University of Texas and a Master's Degree from Troy University and the Air War College. His military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Combined Arms Services Staff College, the Command and General Staff College, the Joint Forces Staff College, and the Air War College.

Col. Bradford's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star (4 oak leaf clusters), Joint (2 OLC) and U.S. Army Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Joint (2 OLC) and U.S. Army Commendation Medal (6 OLC), the Iraq and Afghanistan Campaign Medal, UN and NATO Medal, and Joint and Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC). Jim wears the Ranger Tab, Airborne Badge, Air Assault Badge, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Expert Infantryman's Badge, and Presidential Service Badge.
