SEOUL (Oct. 15, 2012) -- U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan hosted its annual Fall Friendship Festival providing service members, families, and civilians with a fun filled day of events here, Oct. 6.
The Fall Fest event allowed both the Korean and American communities to enjoy a day of friendship together that has developed over the decades. The day highlighted elements of both countries through fun and entertainment.
"I believe this type of festival raises the morale for our service members, families, civilians, Korean nationals, contractors, retirees and everyone else community," said Masley. "I would like to thank everyone for the support in making this festival a success, and would also like to thank everyone for attending."
The festival provided many different events for the Yongsan community to enjoy, including a Taekwondo demonstration, Korean traditional drum performance, musical integrated with B-boy dance, Zumba, face painting, and ring throwing event..
"It is a great opportunity to see how people celebrate Columbus Day," said Pvt. Kim Seung-ho, a Soldier with Headquarters and Headquarters Company USAG Yongsan. "Great food, great music, and I'd love to come out more often."
Musical performances were provided by the Eighth Army Band's Seoul Alliance, and American Band Entertainment's Naughty Ajeossi Band, and several Korean singers.
A community parade showcased the United Nations Command Color Guard, Seoul American High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, local sports teams, and Republic of Korea Support Group, and many organizations.
