Preview an article

You can preview how your article appears on mobile, tablet, and desktop screens. This is a great way to test the responsive design as you edit your article.

Preview mode hides the editing and navigation panels and displays a full-screen preview of your article. You can switch between Edit and Preview mode, even if your article is already released.

Access your article in preview mode

  1. On your article page, click thein the top-right corner of the main action bar.
  2. Select Preview Article from the dropdown menu to enter Preview mode.
  3. A preview of your article will display full screen in desktop view. Click on a device icon to view your article on the corresponding device.
  4. To exit Preview mode and go back to editing your article, click the icon.

Readers don’t see the device options across the top of Preview mode. This is just a tool for you to use when you’re logged into CORE and managing your article.

Changing the device view gives you a general idea of how your article appears on a typical mobile browser. It's not 100% accurate for every phone or tablet, since window sizes vary between devices. Some features may behave differently on an actual mobile device than they do in Preview mode.

NOTE: If you’ve made updates to a released article, Preview mode will allow you to see those changes as they would appear on, but it does not update your live article. You must click Release to publish your changes.
