GULFPORT, Miss. - Col. Teddy Byrd, commander, 207th Army Liaison Team, and the Soldiers of the 207th returned home after succesfully completing their mission in Afghanistan May 25, 2012.

"I'm proud of the job we did. We had a border mission, a unique mission to deal with both Afghanistan and Pakistan. It was an honor to have that responsibility, to get it done and to get everyone home safe," said Byrd.

The 207th managed a Joint Border Coordination Center to help deconflict border operations in southern Afghanistan. The twelve-member team conducted near border functions with Pakistani and Afghan counterparts in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

The 207th is based at Fort Bragg, N.C. and is a Direct Reporting Unit to the 412th Theater Engineer Command headquartered in Vicksburg, Miss.

Brig. Gen. Douglas Satterfield, deputy commander, 412th Theater Engineer Command, was on hand to greet and welcome home the Soldiers of 207th Army Liaison Team.
