FORT BENNING, Ga., (Oct. 19, 2016) -- The 3rd Battalion, 81st Armor Regiment is developing their newly formed partnership with Talbot County.
The 3rd Battalion, 81st Armor Regiment supported the Talbot County Fall Line Festival Oct. 15 by providing a static display of two HMMWVs with mounted .50 caliber machine guns. The static display allowed visitors to climb around the vehicles and familiarize themselves with a M1151 up-armored HMMWV.
The Fall Line Festival included a BBQ Rib Cook-Off which allowed Capt. Mike Cox, the 3rd Battalion, 81st Armor Regiment Alpha Company commander, to act as a guest judge.
Other events included a car and motorcycle show, arts and crafts, kid's venues, a petting zoo and live entertainment.
The band Big Daddy performed the opening set and were followed by the MCoE Rock Band. The MCoE Rock band rocked Talbot County and provided an excellent source of entertainment for the festival.
This engagement reinforces our commitment to our County Partnership with Talbot County, as Battalion Leadership and County Leadership socialize and enjoy each other's company.
The 3rd Battalion, 81st Armor Regiment is going to continue developing their relationship with Talbot County through Partnership in Education events throughout the year.
