Army announces upcoming 2nd BCT, 1st Armored Division, unit rotation

WASHINGTON -- The Department of the Army announced today the upcoming 2020 rotation to Kuwait of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas.

The 2nd Brigade Combat Team will replace the 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team (North Carolina Army National Guard) as part of a regular rotation of forces to support the United States’ commitment to Operation Spartan Shield.

“Operation Spartan Shield is a critical mission and the Iron Brigade stands ready to support it," said Col. Chad C. Chalfont, commander of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division. "Our Soldiers are highly trained and will continue to train as we prepare to conduct this mission. We look forward to sustaining the successes of the ‘Old Hickory’ Brigade.”
