FORT BRAGG, N.C. -- Almost 700 military retirees and their Families visited Womack Army Medical Center Oct. 22 to participate in the annual Retiree Appreciation Day.

The retirees were able to gather valuable health information and learn more about their healthcare benefits, as well as receive vaccinations, give blood and even take a yoga class.

Marie Taylor said that she really enjoyed the yoga class and the other services offered for retirees during the event.

"This has been a lot of fun," said Taylor. "I tried yoga a few years ago, but having a class available here has been nice. I'm heading downstairs to give blood after this. I didn't get a chance to give last week, so having the opportunity here is really convenient."

Col. Lance Raney said that Womack appreciates the opportunity to give back to retirees and their Families by hosting the event each year.

"Our staff puts a lot of effort into trying to make this the best possible event each year," said Raney. "Everywhere you look, you should see a smiling face because this is what we love to do. This is just a small way to say thank you for your service."
