FORT BRAGG, N.C. -- Womack Army Medical Center kicked off the new after-hours food service at the Blue Ribbon Bistro dining facility during a ribbon cutting ceremony, Oct. 17.

WAMC is the only dining facility on Fort Bragg that offers after-hours food service, also known as the "night grab-and-go." Hours of operation will be from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. on weeknights for staff, patients and patrons in the Fort Bragg vicinity. The 6-month pilot program will be offered as a credit/debit card only, no cash will be accepted.

"This has been a very popular request of the crew at night; that's to offer some hot choices," said Col. Lance Raney, WAMC commander. "This is the beginning of something that we are confident will grow as the team uses it. Colonel Cable and her team help put this together and did an excellent job."

Col. Sonya Cable, Nutrition Care Division chief, said she was excited about opening the night grab-and-go and selected Spc. Solana Barr as the NCOIC.

"This has certainly been a passion for all of the nutrition care team, all of us have worked to put this together," Cable said. "We have a passion to take care of our staff as well as offering a service for our family members who are here with their loved ones."

The Womack leadership said that feedback from patients and staff helped make this a reality.

"I think this a great opportunity to show, when you tell us what you need, we take care of you (the staff member) and you take care of the patients," added Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Stoddard, WAMC command sgt. maj. "This is a part of taking care of you. Your voice matters."
