MUSTANG Okla.---Soldiers and civilians of the 800th Logistics Support Brigade said farewell to Col. Howard C. W. Geck and welcomed Col. Bradly M. Boganowski as the new commander during a change of command ceremony here at the headquarters June 28, 2015.

Maj. Gen. A.C. Roper, commander 80th Training Command (TASS), who facilitated the event, told the audience that the ceremony represents the promise of being steadfast in meeting the nation's demanding requirements, regardless of a change in leadership.

Roper said Geck's hard work and untiring efforts enhanced the brigade's capability of providing logistical support to the 80th TC's training centers.

Geck, whose next assignment is deputy commander for support at the 80th TC, said, his command goals were to make the 800th LSB ready, relevant, reliable and responsive. His accomplishments as commander include, a 26 percent increase supporting individual training missions, retaining 138 Soldiers across the brigade as part Operation Full Court Press, and winning the 80th TC's brigade level safety award.

"The future of the 800th LSB looks great," said Geck, who received the Meritorious Service Medal from Roper for his time as commander.

The day before the change of command ceremony Boganowski attended the brigade's Yearly Training Brief where leaders from across the brigade updated Roper on the state of each unit.

"It was an amazing event, you all put a ton of effort into briefings and it fills me with confidence," said Boganowski, who's previous assignment was logistics assistant chief of staff at the 103d Expeditionary Support Command, Des Moines Iowa.

"Inspired by the leadership of Maj. Gen. Roper, we can take the 800th even further," he added.

Roper told Baganowski, "leaders are not born, they're made from effort and hard work."

"I challenge you to be the leader your Soldiers deserve and I challenge you to maintain and improve the high standards set by your predecessor," Roper said.
