Romanian Land Forces' military police complete Afghanistan tour with ASG-A

Soldiers from the outgoing Romanian Land Forces' 265th Military Police Battalion, Rotation 8, participated in a transfer of authority ceremony with incoming 265th's Rotation 9 at Bagram Airfield Feb. 8, 2019.

The Romanian police battalion conducts the Area Support Group-Afghanistan (ASG-A) law enforcement mission at Bagram Airfield, alongside the U.S. 506th Military Police Detachment, Washington Army National Guard. ASG-A provides base life support services for more than 35,000 personnel throughout the Combined Joint Operations Area Afghanistan.

Those personnel include U.S. military, DOD Civilian, Contractor and Coalition Forces contributing to Operation Freedom's Sentinel and the NATO-led Operation Resolute Support train, advise and assist mission. In addition to law enforcement, ASG-A provides base life support includes public works, billeting, food and laundry, infrastructure, and quality of life services.
