Command Sgt. Maj. David Tookmanian is now the 14th Military Police Brigade's top noncommissioned officer.

Tookmanian assumed responsibility of the brigade at a ceremony Tuesday in Swift Gym.

Col. Bryan Patridge, 14th Military Police Brigade commander, said he was looking forward to working with the brigade's new top noncommissioned officer because Tookmanian's career shows he has been an exceptional leader and true professional.

"My first contact (with Tookmanian) was in 1995 at Fort McClellan, Alabama. He was one of my trainees in the 795th Military Police Battalion. Then, I watched the 630th Military Police Company thrive because he was a strong platoon sergeant. His impact stuck with me as we both moved forward in our careers," Patridge said.

"I was extremely excited and pleased to hear that he was the inbound command sergeant major for the brigade," Patridge added.

Tookmanian entered the Army in May 1995 and completed One Station Unit Training with Company C, 795th Military Police Battalion at Fort McClellan.

Tookmanian said he is proud to be the brigade's new command sergeant major, but the drill sergeants are the ones really impacting Soldiers' lives on a daily basis.

"I have been the recipient of these fantastic Soldiers while in the operational force for many years. Recognizing the significance of drill sergeants and small group leaders, I promise you this -- I will do everything in my power to enable those leaders to continue the legacy of excellence that they have had for so many years," Tookmanian said.

Tookmanian's deployments include Panama, Kosovo and Iraq. Some of his appointments include team leader, squad leader, platoon sergeant, operations sergeant, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer's Course small group leader, course chief of the MP Basic Noncommissioned Officer's Course, first sergeant of the 13th MP Company, operations sergeant major and command sergeant major of the 716th MP Battalion.

Tookmanian's assignment locations include Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Camp Red Cloud, Korea; Bamberg, Germany; and Fort Bliss, Texas.

The 14th MP Brigade was first activated as the 14th MP Group in Mannheim, Germany, in 1965. The brigade's motto is "Training the Regiment."
