DETROIT ARSENAL, Mich. — Master Sgt. Christopher Jackson received a lateral appointment to the rank of 1st Sgt. Nov. 19 at the Detroit Arsenal, Mich. Jackson’s lateral appointment accompanied his assumption of responsibilities as 1st Sgt. of the Headquarters and Headquarters Company of U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command.

In his assumption of responsibilities remarks, Jackson thanked the command for giving him the opportunity to serve Soldiers.

“This is not about transfer of position, it’s about mission. It’s about serving the people and a purpose that is higher than our own,” said Jackson. “Today, I accept that challenge and seek to serve and engage within this great organization.”

Jackson replaced outgoing 1st Sgt. Lowell Chenault who will be transferring to Georgia to continue his Army career.
