595th MP Co. Case Colors for Deployment

JOINT BASE LEWIS- MCCHORD, Wash. -- The 595th Military Police Company conducted a Color Casing Ceremony November 8, 2011 in preparation for their deployment to Afghanistan later this month.

The 595th will be conducting detainee operations in Parwan Afghanistan and will be the first active duty internment resettlement company deploying to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, said Capt. Bryon N. Greene, Commander, 595th Military Police Company

The 595th Military Police Company, 508th Military Police Battalion, consists of two platoons of 31E, Internment Resettlement Specialist, with the important mission of supplying the guard force at the Regional Confinement Facility here.

We have been training long and hard to get to this point, said Greene, as he addressed the soldiers and the command in a motivating speech.

"We will deploy as a team of professional experts, ready to face the enemy every day," said Greene.

In attendance was Maj. Gen. Lloyd Miles, Deputy Commander, I Corps, Col. Robert M. Taradash, Commander, 42nd Military Police Brigade, Lt. Col. Robert Davel, Commander, 508th Military Police Battalion, Lt. Col. Carl L. Parson, Commander, 504th Military Police Battalion, Command Sgt. Maj. Dawn Rippelmeyer, Command Sergeant Major, 42nd Military Police Brigade and Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher Muller, Command Sergeant Major, 508th Military Police Battalion.

Medal of Honor Recipient, Sgt 1st Class Leroy A. Petry made a special appearance at the closing of the ceremony to shake the hands of every soldier in the 595th Military Police Company. "I will take every opportunity that I can to thank veterans," said Petry. The 595th MP Co. is slated to be home before the holidays next year.
