More than 300 military chefs are competing in more than 600 events at the 37th Annual Military Culinary Arts Competition at Fort Lee, Va. The competition which kicked off Feb. 26 concludes March 9 with an award ceremony. This American Culinary Federation sanctioned event features individual and team challenges in a variety of categories. Participation in the culinary competition is open to active-duty members of al services, Department of Defense Civilians, and U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard. Some of the Army teams going spatula to spatula this year are Fort Hood, Fort Bliss, Fort Drum, Fort Stewart, Fort Bragg and teams from Korea, Hawaii. There are also teams from the Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard.
