Under Secretary of the Army, HON Dr. Joseph W. Westphal, attends the New Mexico Congressional delegation's reception in honor of Sergeant First Class Leroy Petry, September 13, 2011. Sergeant First Class Petry, a native of New Mexico, is the second living Medal of Honor recipient from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. During a combat mission in Paktya Province, Afghanistan, SFC Petry distinguished himself by risking his life above and beyond the call of duty. His valiant and selfless actions resulted in saving the lives of two fellow Soldiers.
