FORT IRWIN, Calif.- Companies with 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment "Warhorse," 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division conducted military operations on urban terrain (MOUT) at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, Calif. Nov.2.

B Company cordoned Medina Wasl, a notional city used for training, and dismounted teams cleared buildings using stacking procedures and reacted quickly to the scenario, moving casualties, taking cover and returning fire.

D Company also conducted MOUT operations in Medina Jabal, another notional city, were they reacted to car bombs and indirect fire.

Scenarios like this prepare Soldiers for their upcoming deployments.
