The U.S. Department of Defense announced this afternoon that the president has nominated Lt. Gen. William B. Garrett III, for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as deputy commander, United States European Command, Germany. Garrett is currently serving as deputy commanding general, United States Army Forces Command, Fort Bragg, N.C. The president has also nominated Maj. Gen. Patrick J. Donahue II, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commanding general, United States Army Forces Command, Fort Bragg, N.C. Donahue is currently serving as commanding general, United States Army Africa/Southern European Task Force, Italy.
