FORT BENNING, Ga. -- Miss Georgia of 2018 visited a newcomers brief at the Army Community Services building May 1 here.
Annie Jorgensen, who is a native of Wisconsin but now calls Duluth, Georgia, home, visited incoming Soldiers at Fort Benning as they learned about their new home.
"I can just tell from the welcome ceremony that's going on this morning [that] there's a lot of passion for Fort Benning," said Jorgensen. "They're proud to live here, proud to live in the Columbus area. So it's really great to see."
The newcomers brief takes place 9 a.m. Wednesdays, not including holidays, at ACS. Soldiers and Family members, who may also attend, hear from Army leadership and get information from representatives of many on- and off-post facilities and organizations.
