Chief Warrant Officer 2 Mergeron Jones, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, is a Soldier with U.S. Army lineage. His father served in Vietnam and his grandfather served in Korea.
"Serving was always my intention," said Jones, a Charlotte, North Carolina native. "I wanted to serve in the world's finest Army."
Jones has served in the Army for 12 years and has deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan, but this is his first experience in a rotational exercise.
"I've worked with NATO allies in Iraq in Afghanistan," Jones said, "but this mission offers a unique opportunity to train with our partners where they live."
His job is electronic warfare, which he specialized in to help protect Soldiers from radio controlled IEDs.
While there are no IEDs to thwart, Jones' expertise allows for training for real world contingencies during the upcoming missions and exercises U.S. Army Europe.
