The construction is part of a Commander's Emergency Response Program-funded reconstruction project, which includes repairs to 7.8 kilometers of road from the Pakistan border into Afghanistan. Sgt. Elmore is a Surprise, Ariz., native deployed from Fort Bragg, N.C.
