Gen. Dennis L. Via, commanding general of U.S. Army Materiel Command visited the 405th Army Field Support Brigade's European Activity Set during a visit to installations throughout Europe. The EAS is a brigade set of equipment that is prepositioned in theater for use throughout Europe by rotational U.S. Forces. The 21st Theater Sustainment Command and the Army Materiel Command are partner organizations in the effort to equip and sustain rotational forces and other U.S. Army in Europe operations in support of NATO. As the commander of the Army's largest materiel organization, Via is responsible for effectively equiping the entire force, and visited Europe to get an understanding of how AMC can best support USAREUR.
Linda Via, Gen. Via's wife, accompanied him on this trip, spending her time engaging with community leaders on issues of concern to the families of service members stationed in Europe.
