Schedule a release

**

You can schedule an article to release in the future. This is useful if you want to publish an article at a specific time, but won’t be available to publish it manually.

NOTE: This action is not available to contributors since they do not have release authority.

Schedule an article

To set an article to release at a particular date and time:

  1. From your article page, click thebutton located in the top-right corner of the action bar. A calendar module will appear with today’s date highlighted with a yellow outline.
  2. Use the left and right arrows to change calendar month.
  3. Click on the future date you want your article to publish. A yellow circle will appear around your selected release date.
  4. Adjust the time you want your article to publish. Military time will automatically convert to standard time.
  5. Click Schedule for Release to close the calendar.

Your article status is now Scheduled for Release, and the future release date is displayed in the overview section of your article page. If you need to access the article prior to the release date, it will be available at the top of the Released folder of your Inbox, labelled as Scheduled.

NOTE: Any changes made to the article before the release date and time will be published. Scheduling is not cancelled or modified because of edits.

On its release date, your article will automatically publish, making it available for anyone to read on www.army.mil. The article will still be available from the Released folder of your Inbox, but the Scheduled label will be removed.

TIP: All release times are based on your local timezone. If you would like to schedule an article to release at a certain time in a different timezone, then you will need to calculate the difference before entering it into CORE.
