FORT HOOD, Texas -- Part of the mission of the "Mighty" 407th Army Field Support Brigade is ensuring Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services are conducted on unit equipment.

Recently one was conducted at the Directorate of Logistic's Division of Materiel, Ground Maintenance Branch, Special Repair Activity, west staging area April 10 on some M109 (Paladin) 155mm Howitzers. This weapon is the most technically advanced self-propelled cannon system in the Army.

The 2nd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division conducted PMCS and road tests of the Paladins that day.
