CAMP HUMPHREYS, Republic of Korea -- The Painted Door Thrift Shop held a "Spring into Savings and Styles" fashion show on March 3.

The event was hosted by Humphreys Girl Scouts and the United Clubs Spouses and Civilians Association.

All donated long sleeve merchandise, such as jackets, sweaters, and shirts, was offered at a 50 percent discount. Also, spring and summer clothes went on sale.

The highlight was a spring fashion show that featured patrons showing off their newly purchased secondhand clothes.

"We hosted this event to give the thrift shop some exposure," said Jessica Dunn, Painted Door manager. "There are new people arriving in the garrison every week and we wanted to inform them that 100 percent of thrift shop profits go back to the community, to give grants and scholarships to different people. We also have a lot of good clothing and selections available to choose from."

After Soldiers and family members watched their children walk the runway in spring and summer clothes, hot dogs and lemonade were served. And, as always with the Painted Door, it was for a good cause.

"We are always accepting donations and things people can contribute to the community and help kids go to college and pursue higher education," Dunn said.

She added that the Painted Door is always looking for volunteers who can help with organizing and displaying the merchandise.

The thrift shop is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
