A library in the Palmetto Clubhouse at The Landings in Savannah was the ideal venue for a new Army outreach initiative developed to raise awareness on healthy outlets available to Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Soldiers and their families.

The inaugural Coastal Community Connections brought together Army senior leaders and spouses with Coastal Georgia representatives of chambers of commerce, economic development authorities and visitor bureaus March 4 to share information on events of interest happening over the next three months.

“This is amazing,” Brig. Gen. Jeremy Wilson, the 3rd Infantry Division deputy commanding general for operations, said of the collective group of Coastal Georgia ambassadors. The collaboration and discussion tonight were truly amazing, he added.

This was great, said Kathy Norrie, the spouse of 3rd Infantry Division commanding general, Maj. Gen. Chris Norrie. She added it was good to see there are lots of things going on as senior spouses routinely hear from our Soldiers’ Families there is nothing to do in the community.
