OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Aug. 26, 2022.) — The Oklahoma City Dodgers honored the service and dedication of local military members and their families Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, during Military Celebration Night when the Dodgers took on the El Paso Chihuahuas at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
Players and coaches took to the field wearing special commemorative green, camouflage and gold jerseys as well as camouflage hats.
Area service members, including Fort Sill Soldiers, participated in several pregame events, including the presentation of colors with a large flag in the outfield, the singing of the national anthem and musical entertainment provided by the 77th Army Band. Soldiers also displayed some of their military equipment for the public to view.
Special festivities throughout the game including pushup contests, tug-o-war and a three-legged race culminated with postgame fireworks show.
