To observe Earth Day 2022, White Sands Missile Range's Bell Gymnasium put together a fun run on April 22. Participants received an Earth Day medal and seeds to plant in their gardens.
The Bell Gymnasium is in Building 236 at White Sands Missile Range and includes a weight room, basketball courts, indoor soccer, climbing ropes and much more. Sports and fitness classes, along with recreational leagues are also available. The gym also hosts several activities every month such as the Earth Day Fun Run that anyone can participate in.
The Army's theme for Earth Day this year is, "A Partnership for the Planet." The Army has been observing Earth Day for more than 50 years and over the last several decades the Army has responded to the impacts of climate change and completed its mission despite the increase in extreme weather and droughts. The Army is improving readiness by integrating climate change considerations into policies, strategies and plans.
