19th Engineer Battalion preparing to change command leadership July 24

FORT KNOX, Ky. — The Soldiers of 19th Engineer Battalion bid farewell to outgoing commander Lt. Col. Brad Morgan at a change of command ceremony set for July 24 in Fort Knox’s Waybur Theater.

During the ceremony, Morgan will relinquish authority of the battalion to Lt. Col. Christopher Beal. The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m.

Beal enlisted in the Texas National Guard in 1997 and pursued a career as a combat engineer. He later received a commission as an engineer officer from Prairie View A&M University. He most recently served as the executive officer for 177th Armored Brigade, an AC/RC unit based at Camp Shelby, Mississippi.

After relinquishing command of 19th, Morgan will travel to Miami with his family, where he will work at U.S. Southern Command’s J45 Engineer Directorate in Engineer Plans and Integration.
