ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, III. -- Each fiscal year, the Secretary of the Army and Chief of Staff of the Army recognize organizations and individuals demonstrating contributions to loss prevention by awarding Army Awards of Excellence in Safety. Joint Munitions Command was selected as the winner of the Army Exceptional Organization Safety Award for a Direct Reporting Unit and One-Star Command under Army Materiel Command.

This award signifies JMC's emphasis on safety and commitment to proactive risk management and accident prevention which is integrated throughout JMC's plans, operations and training. The award stated, "JMC was recognized for outstanding success in hazard awareness, risk management and loss prevention. This exceptional achievement demonstrates the dedication and commitment this command has made during Fiscal Year 2018 to preserve readiness through prevention of accidental loss of our Soldiers, Civilians, Families and vital resources."

"In order to Provide Lethality that Wins, JMC must ensure the safety of both its Soldiers and Civilians," said Luke Kearns, JMC Safety Division.
