CAMP CARROLL, Republic of Korea -- U.S. Army Materiel Command recognized Gregory Stopyra, operations chief, intelligence/operations/information (S2/3/6), Army Field Support Battalion-Northeast Asia, to receive the prestigious Louis Dellamonica Award for being one of AMC's Outstanding Personnel of the Year, 2016.
According to the citation, which referred to Stopya as "a leader of the first order," he served as an asset vital to mission success by synchronizing and improving processes that maximized logistical readiness and improved U.S. Army and coalition forces "Ready to Fight Tonight" capabilities on the Korean Peninsula.
Colonel Michael Siegl, former commander of 403rd Army Field Support Brigade of which AFSBn-NEA falls under, said; "Greg's selection for the award is a testament to his dedication and commitment to continuously improving every organization he helps lead.
"I'm so proud to have had the opportunity to work with such a professional individual, like Greg, who selflessly raises the talent of those around him and ensures we are ready today to fight tonight."
403rd AFSB is a subordinate unit of U.S. Army Sustainment Command whose mission is to integrate and synchronize the delivery of AMC capabilities and enablers at the operational and tactical points of need.
John Glasgow, deputy to the commander, AFSBn-NEA, said; "Greg is a stalwart in our enterprise and not much happens that doesn't have his fingerprints all over it.
"Greg's passion for our mission is contagious. He absolutely loves his job and it shows in the efforts he makes and the results he provides;" Glasgow said.
The Louis Dellamonica Award for Outstanding AMC Personnel of the Year was established to recognize outstanding work accomplishments that have significantly contributed to AMC's mission and overarching goals and objectives. Nominees are judged on how their initiatives measurably improve their work environment and AMC's mission, how they motivate and inspire fellow employees to improve or increase the quality of their own work, and how well they are viewed by peers, subordinates and supervisors.
