His Excellency Volodymyr Groysman, Prime Minister of Ukraine, participated in an Armed Forces Full Honor Wreath-Laying Ceremony with Maj. Gen. Bradley A. Becker, commanding general, Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington, at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Arlington National Cemetery, June 15, 2016.
Following the wreath-laying ceremony, Groysman visited with President Barack Obama at the White House.
According to the State Department, The U.S.-Ukraine Charter on Strategic Partnership highlights the importance of the bilateral relationship and outlines enhanced cooperation in the areas of defense, security, economics and trade, energy security, democracy, and cultural exchanges. It also emphasizes the continued commitment of the United States to support enhanced engagement between the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and Ukraine.
