FORT LEE, Va. -- Forty-three Soldiers from the Army Logistics University were presented the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge during a Feb. 10 ceremony.

The badge is one of three German devices that Soldiers are authorized to wear. To earn the badge, competitors must pass a series of tests that include; a fitness test, 100 meter swim in combat uniform, marksmanship, 7.5 mile march carrying a 33 pound pack, Nuclear Biological and Chemical proficiency and combat lifesaving skills.

Participants who successfully complete the test are awarded either a gold, silver or bronze medal depending on their final score. Testing for the badge is conducted four times a year by the German liaison officer stationed at the Combined Arms Support Command here.
