MISSION:

To ensure effective implementation of the programs assigned to the Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP). These programs are Small Business (SB), Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB), 8(a), Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Service Institutions (HBCU/MSIs), AbilityOne (formally NIB/NISH), and Federal Prison Industries (FPI) Programs.

FUNCTIONS:

Serves as the Principal Advisor to the Commander and Team Redstone regarding small business issues.

Assists all businesses on government contracting matters, including changes to the procurement system.

Advises and assists Contracting, Technical and Program Managers to increase use of small business, SDB, HUBZone, WOSB, VOSB, SDVOSB, and HBCU/MSI participants.

Serves as an advocate for small business firms.

Monitors small business performance (goals).

Maintains an outreach program to locate and develop small business firms.

Serves as the liaison with the Small Business Administration (SBA).

Provide small business technical advisory support ot the SBA-PCR.

Maintain records and reports to higher headquarters on awards to small business, SDB, WOSB, HUBZone, SDVOSB, HBCU/MSI, and EXPRESS task orders.

Regularly brief the AMCOM Commanding General, the Deputy to the Commanding General, and the Command Group on AMCOM performance against AMC assigned small business goals. When required, brief the DA OSBP and the AMC OSBP on program accomplishments.
