FORT LEE, Va. - The Under Secretary of the Army, Joseph W. Westphal, Ph.D., presented a coin to Sgt. 1st Class Devera Martin, Deployment and Deployment Systems Department noncommissioned officer in charge, Combined Arms Support Command, for her "game changer" service April 18. Westphal was hosted by Maj. Gen. Larry D. Wyche, CASCOM and Fort Lee commanding general, during his visit to the Army's sustainment think tank.
During his tour to learn about training initiatives, Westphal took the time to recognize Fort Lee personnel for their service and dedication to training and developing military members.
Also presented coins for their performance were: Francoise B. Bonnell, U.S. Army Women's Museum director; Susan Troendle, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Directorate training division chief, Ordnance School; Master Sgt. Jose Medina, senior enlisted career manager for Unit Supply Specialist (92Y), Quartermaster School; Master Sgt. David Faughnan, senior clinical noncommissioned officer, Kenner Army Health Clinic; Carol L. Anderson, Environmental Management Division chief, U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Lee and Jennifer Gilliam, Instructional Design Basic Course instructor, U.S. Army Logistics University.
CASCOM is a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command. The command is responsible for training over 180,000 students annually through 541 courses taught by the Ordnance, Quartermaster and Transportation schools, Soldier Support Institute and Army Logistics University.
