The fiscal year 2013-2015 Stryker Life Cycle Requirements Contract Team received the 2012 Secretary of the Army Award for Excellence in Contracting.

The Stryker team was recognized for its exemplary performance during the acquisition planning and pre-solicitation phase associated with the fiscal year 13-15 Stryker life cycle - follow-on requirements contract effort valued at $5.1 billion.

The members of this contracting team are John Velliky, Greg Dixon, Jeffrey Simonis, Lisa Behnke, Michael Chaney, Leon Wilson, Alexandria Wengrowski, Daniel Orlando, Gary Schuholz, Joseph Clayton, Kimberly Nelson, Paul Roeser, Steven Balthazor, Jennifer Mayers, Lisa Durbin and Jonathan Lenz.

The team contributed to the Project Management Office-Stryker Brigade Combat Team's mission by leading the associated acquisition planning and presolicitation efforts. This team was able to develop, manage and lead a highly complex contracting project that required the involvement of nearly all of the functional resources contained within the PMO.

As part of this effort, they conducted market research needed to plan for the contracting action. They also developed the necessary contracting authority documents to execute the contracting strategy proposed and obtained the approvals to proceed with the identified contracting authority.

In addition, the team formulated and implemented a project plan that provided the basis for direction to the entire organization and led 13 integrated working groups through the solicitation development process.

The award packet states that the team demonstrated leadership, project management and contracting skills throughout the execution of this project and that their performance directly led to the accomplishment of tasks required to establish the follow-on fiscal year 13-15 Stryker life cycle requirements contract.
