REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. - Dozens of volunteers who work at the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command pitched in to host a Winter Wonderland for families of fallen heroes at The Overlook on Jan. 28.
The event was hosted in conjunction with Survivor Outreach Services, an Army-wide program designed to provide dedicated and comprehensive support to survivors of deceased Soldiers. The program is designed to, among other things, encourage our survivors to remain an integral part of the Army family for as long as they desire.
The "Winter Wonderland" event was an opportunity for this command and this Army community to demonstrate their commitment to the surviving spouses, children, parents, and friends of fallen comrades.
Games and activites were offered for children of all ages, including two Wii game stations, marshmallow snowmen and cookie decorating station, balloon animal station, and face painting.
