ANNISTON ARMY DEPOT, Ala. - An unlikely reunion was made between two men at Anniston Army Depot as a result of the Army's Logistics Modernization Program implementation.

Donnie Musick, a General Dynamics employee, noticed a familiar logo on the shirt of a Computer Science Corporation employee. The CSC employee, Mark Berrier, was wearing a Newport News Apprentice School t-shirt. As it turns out, both men attended the highly acclaimed Apprentice School located in Newport News, Va.

The Newport News Apprentice School is unique in that it offers its students world-class training in shipbuilding, including submarines and aircraft carriers, in addition to associate's degree courses and athletics.

"Graduates of the Newport News Apprentice School have a leg-up on other mechanics when competing for a job," said Musick.

Musick has been employed by General Dynamics for two-and-a-half years and is currently working as a Bay Lead in building 400.

"Working on aircraft carriers and Stryker vehicles is very similar," said Musick. "The main difference is that one floats."

Berrier's employer, Computer Science Corporation, is the company that designed LMP for use by the Army. He relocated to Anniston last October to serve as a Product Life Cycle Management Senior Consultant. He currently plays a role in inventory management, data quality and system reporting.
