WIESBADEN, Germany – Nine members of the Wiesbaden Hunting, Fishing and Sport Shooters gathered along with German partners for an evening of marksmanship practice at Hitpoint Schießkino on Aug. 19.
This unique training opportunity simulates outdoor scenarios in an indoor, live fire range through a variety of videos projected on a backdrop – hence the name “Schießkino,” or shooting theater.

This recurring monthly event coordinated by the HFSS gives American hunters an opportunity to shoot at running targets, a critical skill for European hunting. Shooters also record training stamps in logbooks required to participate in German drive hunts.

Sport shooters can shoot at static images that replicate a variety of targets and distances. Participants from novice to expert can be challenged with more than 400 videos to choose from.

While the Hitpoint training events are a valuable opportunity for those holding a Jagdschein, German Hunting License, in order to maintain their required skill level through continual training, the Schießkino is also a fun way to explore new disciplines and hunting scenarios in a safe environment.
