The U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden Task Force Surge can help take the stress out of PCS moves.
WIESBADEN, Germany – The U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden stood up Task Force Surge last year to confront the unique challenges of completing a Permanent Change of Station move during a global pandemic. The lessons learned from that experience showed that a cross-functional team addressing the full spectrum of PCS topics helped resolve issues before they occurred.
Moving forward, the surge team is building on those lessons learned and continuing to find new and effective ways to help ensure all the little details that surround coming or leaving Germany are handled as smoothly and effectively as possible.
Task Force Surge has two goals. First, to ensure that service members, DoD civilians and their families are welcomed into the Wiesbaden community in as seamless a transition as possible. Second, to continuously improve Wiesbaden garrison systems and processes to provide the best possible service to those individuals.
No move is without its unique challenges that test our resolve and resiliency as individuals and families. In-processing or out-processing at your duty station should never be one of those challenges.
As the garrison HHC commander and lead for Task Force Surge, it is my responsibility to be the central hub for all things PCS. I work directly with tenant units and Garrison service providers to ensure the best information is provided to everyone here in Wiesbaden.
If there are special circumstances surrounding your move, if you need additional clarification on current health protection restrictions, or if you simply need to be pointed in the right direction for the right answer to a question, Task Force Surge is ready and able to assist you in your transition.
Unit sponsors are equipped with this information to share during any move and they should always be your primary source of information.
