WASHINGTON -- The submission deadline to compete in the U.S. Army's third Expeditionary Technology Search, or xTechSearch 3.0, is June 13.
The Army held its first and second competitions in 2018 and due to its successful outcomes is continuing its efforts to find the best technologies from small businesses and start-ups to incorporate into Army technologies.
Phase I of xTechSearch 3.0, which is the concept white paper component, provides an opportunity for the non-defense traditional small business sector to submit white papers detailing novel game-changing innovations and technology solutions for Army leadership.
This phase invites all eligible entities to submit a concept white paper outlining their knowledge, skills, capabilities and approach for this challenge. Each concept white paper will be reviewed by a panel of Army subject matter experts. Up to 50 small businesses with the highest ranking white papers will receive a prize of $5,000 and a written invitation to phase II of the xTechSearch technology pitches.
During phase II of the competition, up to 24 winners will receive $10,000 each and be selected for phase III, which includes demonstrations at the Association of the U.S. Army's annual meeting to be held in October in Washington, D.C.
With a total prize pool of $2.29 million, xTechSearch 3.0 seeks novel, disruptive concepts and technologies to advance capabilities across multiple technology areas to include Long-Range Precision Fires, Next Generation Combat Vehicle, Future Vertical Lift, The Army Network, Air and Missile Defense, Increasing Soldier Lethality, Medical Technologies and Military Engineering Technologies.
All submissions must be received by June 13 via the challenge.gov portal at https://challenge.gov/a/buzz/challenge/1029/ideas/top no later than 2:59 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
