More than 20 teams turned out for Fort Leonard Wood's annual Cardboard Boat Race, held Saturday at the lake at Training Area 250.

While teams could have an unlimited number of boat-builders, each entry was operated by a two-person crew.

Awards were presented in two divisions.

Adult Team division winners included:

-- The 1st Engineer Spouses, operated by Ron Jones and Janet Johnson, took home the High Seas Award for "most team spirit;"

-- The Air Force Detachment 1, 364th Training Squadron boat, the "S.S. Mini O," operated by Anthony Dillar and Brian Craddock, won the Admiral's Pride Award for most creative design;

-- The Torpedo Award for fastest time went to the Support Platoon 50th Battalion boat, operated by Calvin Harris and Brice Williams;

-- The Titanic Award for "most outstanding sinking" went to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Engineer Brigade boat, operated by Heather Wardin and Ron Johnson;

-- Two teams won Epic Sea Battle Awards for the best battle battle on the lake: the Spartans bat, operated by Jason Railsback and and Jason Gleason, and the 50th Multi Role Bridge Company boat, operated by Michael Owen, both took home the awards.

Family Team division awards, which included crews of at least one adult and one child 17 and younger, were presented as follows:

-- The High Seas Award was won by the Boy Scout Troop 149 entry, operated by Jacob Pope and Nevin Smith;

-- The Admiral's Pride Award was presented to the 90th Special Troops Battalion "Lego Boat," operated by Christopher Harner and Christina Harner;

-- The Torpedo Award was won by the 169th Engineer Battalion entry, operated by Scott Preston and Bailey Preston;

-- The Titanic Award went to the Homeschool Assignment team entry, operated by Anthony Hinojosa and Maddox Hinojosa.
