Media advisory: US Air Force delivers 10th Combat Aviation Brigade's TF Phoenix to Atlantic Resolve

RIGA, Latvia--A U.S. Air Force C5 Galaxy will deliver U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk aircraft and Soldiers from the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade's Task Force Phoenix to Riga International Airport in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve Tuesday.

U.S. Army Europe and U.S. Air Force Europe senior leaders will host a press engagement Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. for media wishing to attend the offloading and assembly of the helicopters. All times published are tentative based on the arrival of the aircraft and subject to change.

Task Force Phoenix, led by the 3rd General Support Aviation Battalion, 10th Aviation Regiment, is part of the first rotational combat aviation brigade deployed to provide a persistent presence in eastern Europe, a demonstration of U.S. and NATO allies and partners' commitment to Europe's collective security.

Approximately 60 Soldiers, pilots, crew chiefs, maintainers and aviation specialists are currently deploying to Lielvarde Air Base to conduct aviation operations in support of bilateral training and multinational exercises as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve. Overall, the 10th CAB, out of Fort Drum, NY, is bringing approximately 2,200 Soldiers, 86 helicopters and more than 700 pieces of equipment through multiple ports from the U.S. to Germany, Latvia and Romania.

All media representatives seeking to attend the offloading event at Riga International Airport must submit their full name, media organization, press number or passport number, country issued, expiration date and date of birth no later than 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26.

Media representatives who have RSVP'd for the event and have submitted their press accreditation details will be received at the main entrance of Riga International Airport for security checks, Tuesday, between 6:45 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. Admittance to Riga International Airport will be denied without proper credentialing prior to the event; there will be no exceptions.

Note: Airport parking is the responsibility of the media and their organization. There is a private pay for parking lot next to the airport that charges 3,5 Euros per hour.
