KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany - Senior enlisted leaders from across the Kaiserslautern Military Community distributed Thanksgiving care packages to junior Army and Air Force personnel Nov. 21 at the Vogelweh Commissary in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

The annual distribution of Thanksgiving groceries united sponsors, leaders, Soldiers, airmen and families across the Rhineland-Pfalz military community. Turkeys, fixings, vegetables and roasting pans were among the givings, administered by the Kaiserslautern USO with donations from Service Credit Union and the Defense Commissary Agency.

The USO and sponsors provided breakfast, lunch, coffee and, mercifully, hand warming stations as well as groceries and gifts such as movies to families of junior Army and Air Force personnel in the community.

Around 120 total volunteers from the area Army Sergeant Major Association, 21st Theater Sustainment Command Sergeant Morales Club and the Air Force "Top 3," undaunted by the cold November rain that fell steadily throughout the event, distributed some 650 meals over a four-hour span Saturday morning and early afternoon. Key leaders from area Army and Air Force units - spearheaded by the 21st TSC and subordinate brigades, and including the garrison commander and command sergeant major, regional Air Force commands and Defense Media Activity - served as honorary commissary clerks for their Soldiers and Airmen, escorting them through grocery and gift distribution stations, loading carts and unloading tasty cargo into waiting vehicles.

Around two dozen TSC sergeants major, first sergeants and platoon sergeants joined the command's senior enlisted leader and Special Troops Battalion command team in an indefatigable effort to "provide it all," demonstrating the TSC is "First in Support!" of Families as well as regional commands.
