HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. (Sept. 30, 2015) -- The Hanscom Airman and Family Readiness Center is partnering with the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Systems Center and the Boston Celtics to host a Career Fair Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Minuteman Commons.

The event is open to any job seeker able to gain entrance to the base, including active duty military and their family members, Department of Defense civilian employees, Reserve and National Guard members and retired military from all services.

"The benefits of a Career Fair are easier access to employment and networking opportunities for people transitioning from the military, as well as providing opportunities for family members seeking employment," said Dan Mazzuca, Transition Assistance Program manager. "With low veteran unemployment rates and an increase in employment opportunities, this is a particularly ideal time for transitioning service members and their family members to seek employment."

Mazzuca also highlighted that employers often look to veterans because of their unique skills.

"Employers repeatedly tell me that they seek veterans due to their skills in leadership, teamwork and ability to perform under pressure," he said. "With more than 50 employers scheduled to attend, this career fair should provide something for all those seeking employment."
