The Department of the Army announced today, Nov. 20, the planned activations of the 4th Finance Company, the 16th Public Affairs Detachment and the 4th Air Defense Artillery Battery at Fort Bliss.

The 606th Movement Control Detachment, 15th Sustainment Brigade, 142nd Combat Sustainment Battalion, 202nd Military Police Company, 734 Ordnance Company and the 68th Medium Truck Company are relocating to Fort Bliss from various locations within the United States and Europe. Additionally, the 1-44 Air Defense Artillery Battalion will relocate from Fort Bliss to Fort Hood, Texas.

These stationing actions are a part of integrated force structure changes that support the Army's transformation requirements. These initiatives support the Army Force Generation (ARFORGEN) Model and provide Combatant Commanders with forces at a higher level of readiness.

These stationing actions represent an increase of 252 military authorizations at Fort Bliss and no change in civilian authorizations. These stationing actions will be completed by Sept. 16, 2011.
