ANSBACH, Germany (Feb. 5, 2015) -- The youngest and oldest members of the U.S. Army Nurse Corps from the Storck Barracks Army Health Clinic celebrated 114 years of the corps' service to the Soldiers, Family members, Retirees and Veterans of the U.S. Army Feb. 2 at the clinic.
Maj. Leigh Traylor gave a short speech. Along with 1st Lt. (Reserve) Rebecca Rivera, Trayler cut her homemade cake to celebrate the 114th anniversary of the corps.
Congress formally established the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in 1901. The corps is one of the six medical branches that comprise the United States Army Medical Department (AMEDD). The motto of the United States Army Nurse Corps is "Embrace the past -- Engage the present -- Envision the future."
