FORT DRUM - The Commandos of the 10th Mountain Division's 2nd Brigade Combat Team will use their considerable combat experience when they deploy to West Point to train cadets from the United States Military Academy this summer.

"We are proud to send the Polar Bear Battalion to the U.S. Military Academy to bring their extensive combat experience to bear in training the Army's next generation of leaders," said 2nd BCT Command Sgt. Maj. Anthony Mahoney.

Soldiers from 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment and elements of 2nd Battalion, 15th Field Artillery Regiment, will conduct final manifest calls and battalion commanders will offer remarks June 10 as the Soldiers deploy to West Point.

"As part of the most-deployed Brigade Combat Team in the Army, they have extensive knowledge to impart, and they will also learn from the cadets at West Point," Mahoney said.

The 2nd BCT Soldiers are expected to be deployed to West Point until late August.
