Lt. Gen. J. Michael Bednarek, commanding general of First Army, speaks to Illinois business leaders about the influx of qualified veterans available from the downsizing of the Army. Bednarek highlighted the benefits of hiring Army Reserve, National Guard, and veterans. Lt. Gen. J. Michael Bednarek, commanding general of First Army, receives an award from Doug Whitley, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented to Bednarek at the Illinois Chamber of Commerce Annual Board meeting, June 8, in Chicago. Bednarek attended the meeting to talk with business leaders about the influx of qualified veterans from the downsizing of the Army, and discussed the benefits of hiring Army Reserve, National Guard, and veterans.
