By Ms Britney L Walker (Army Medicine)February 13, 2012

Progress is being made during phase one of the Keller Army Community Hospital Clinic Addition construction project. The first phase will concentrate on major site alterations such as: excavation, grading and installation of engineered retaining walls. Captured here is the installation of the retaining walls which consists of large concrete blocks. These concrete blocks weigh over 2000 pounds each and are being lifted into place by the excavator on site. The installation resembles the work of a concrete mason, where much attention is paid to placement of the first course as all other blocks above will be resting on the foundation block. This work symbolizes the first installation of materials on the site.
